THE FOUR INCH STUDS
St. Ignatius Prep 150th Anniversary Celebration
June 4, 2005

Now this was a gig!  This was the 150th anniversary of St. Ignatius Preparatory School in San Francisco, from which our guitarist and vocalist John (third from left) graduated.  L to R: Todd (bass), David (guitar/vocals/ bandleader),  John (guitar/vocals), me (guitar/vocals).  Rick (drums) is barely visible in the back.  There were two adjacent stages, with four bands playing throughout the day.  Half the amps on the stage, including the Mesa Boogie and Line 6, belong to another band playing later in the day.  My rig (on the right) towers over the small combos that dot the stage.   MWAHAHAHA!

For the gearheads: Todd plays a Peavey Cirrus thru a Carvin Cyclops bass combo, Dave plays a H/S/S Strat thru a blackface Fender Super Reverb, John plays his Ric thru a newer Fender combo, and my Les Paul goldtop and Ibanez V go thru my "Rockstar" rig (more on that below).

Too bad there's a modeling amp in this otherwise great shot.

Wireless.  Why did I wait so long?

Our new bass player Todd brings a lot of energy to the band.

Okay, this is my "Rockstar" rig, so named because of the magnetic letters my wife gave me which I stuck on the rack.  The rack contains a delay (ended up not using it), wireless receiver and Hot Plate.  The top head is my vintage Marshall JTM45.  It runs thru the HP into half of the stereo speaker cabinet.  The purple 100w Marshall, with Power Scaling, feeds the other half of the cab.  From the wireless receiver, the signal runs out to a Boss SD-1 and MXR Phase 90.  From there the signal splits in two.  One path goes to the purple head, the other to the JTM45 via a Moreley volume pedal.  This gives me a true volume boost for leads and any time I need to be LOUD.  (The LP Studio in this photo is John's.)
