The Change Orders
Company Picnic
June 14, 2002

What a lively bunch, eh? L to R: Tracy (not "Dick") with his Hendrix Strat, me playing my goldtop, Tom on Bass, David (the band leader) playing his H/S/S Strat, Rick on drums, John with his Strat.  I think the beach umbrella adds a certain je ne sais quoi, don't you?

This is back when THE FOUR INCH STUDS were The Change Orders.  The band is made up of guys that all work for an architecture firm in Alameda, California.  Pictured here is the 2002 company picnic, the third such even I've been involved in with this extraordinary band.

Either this photo was taken at the exact same moment as the one above, or we don't move around much when we play.

Here are some more photos for your viewing pleasure.  Naturally, these pics feature me.  Not because I've got a big head, mind you.  These just happen to be the photos that were given to me by the person who took them.

Here I am belting out some otherwise perfectly good rock tune.  Probably Led Zeppelin's "The Girl I Love She Got Long Black Wavy Hair." I do declare.  By the way, the mid-'70s Marshall combo on the left belongs to Tracy.  It has a boost feature that works like this:  When Tracy has a solo, I reach back and turn up his Master Volume.

"Rock 'n ROOOOOLL!"

Hey, where'd that long hair come from?!?

I look like I've had a few too many in this shot.  I haven't.  That's just the way I look when I play.

That's right, I'm bad.

As you can see, I can't sing and play at the same time.  Some would say I can't sing or play at any time.
