I've collected these photos of the guts of my favorite amps from eBay auctions, guitar/amp retailers, pics posted on bulletin boards or wherever I could find 'em. These are all Marshall and Park. Most are plexi, some are point-to-point metal panel. One is a '78 2204 because I happen to own one of those. If you're like me - count yourself lucky if you're not - you get some kind of pathetic thrill out of looking inside old tube amps. You like to contemplate screen resistors and bypass capacitors, ponder the ramifications of moving the negative feedback wire to the 8 ohm tap, scratch your head over why someone would put an effects loop in an amp that doesn't have a "distortion" channel, or cry at the sight of a hole drilled in the front panel of an otherwise pristine 35-year old piece of working art. Keep in mind that these photos don't necessarily represent perfect, unmodified examples. Many have replaced parts, mods, and other problems. I collected these for my own information, not to present a historical record. My apologies to those of you with slow dial-up internet access. These pics may take some time to load. Also, the quality and resolution of each image is different from the next. Nothing I can do about that. One thing I have done is oriented them the same way - pots down - because that's the way I like to work on my amps, plus it's easier to compare them this way. That's why some photos may appear to be upside-down. These are NOT MY AMPS, so I have no other information about them, beyond the short description below each image. This information, such as the model, year or tolex color, is based on information provided by the original source of the pic. One more thing. I would have liked to have presented more pics of each amp - rather than just the chassis - but that would be beyond the scope of what I'm doin' here. If you're looking for Fender, Ampeg, Hiwatt, Matchless, Mesa, Orange or other makes, try this link. It's the only other chassis photo collection I've found on the web. And if you're looking for Marshall board layouts so you can make your own turret/eyelet board, go here.
